For a great span of history, the myth prevailed that China was passive in terms of setting the dialogue or initiating the contact between China and the western civilisation. The book, “ The Encounter of China and The West” breaks this myth and finds out the ways and possibilities based on which conclusion can be culminated that Europe did not discover China.
