Hipsters denote the subculture among men and women in their 20’s and 30’s that breaks away from the mainstream as manifested in their independent thinking, different points of view in politics, counter-culture, creativity expression, style, and music choices. In her interview with Stuart Berman (Beneroia, 2013), the critic explains the people hates the hipsters’ vanity. More than their quest for new things and experiences, the criticisms centered at hipsters’ celebration for themselves for countering the mainstream. Also, the hipster trends has the tendency to become part of the mainstrem as soon as many would conform to the subculture.
