There are many different ways that teachers can prevent students from doing bad things. Strip searches should not be one of them. It is ridiculous that teachers or principals would be allowed to do something like that. It sounds horrifying and embarrassing. If that ever happened to me I don’t think I could ever look at the particular teacher ever again.
Strip searches take away a student’s rights. In our 2nd Amendment, it says people cannot search other people without a warrant. Why would people search others if it’s wrong? It is demeaning and makes someone not even feel like a human being. Our rights are that a search cannot be conducted unless there is a probable cause. For example, though, a lost wallet is not a big eno0ugh issue for a strip search to be done! Strip searches are meant to keep kids from bringing drugs or weapons to school.
But it seems like an extreme way of making that happen. Next thing you know kids won’t be able to have pockets and then no backpacks too! Kids should stand up for what’s right no matter what the consequences are. If I were put in the situation of having to have a strip search I would refuse, no matter what the punishments may be. I would not be able to handle the amount of humiliation that would come out of a strip search. They should definitely be illegal in a school setting. All in all teachers should never result to a strip search as a way of ensuring a kids safety.
It doesn’t feel safe. It feels unnatural and demeaning.
