After studying the various case studies presented in the website, several key areas that need improvement have been mentioned, these are: environmental awareness as well as the financial and natural benefits involved in being environmentally aware. This improvement effort is driven by the essence that the environment is conserved while the profits of the company are maintained or even improved. After studying through the several case studies, I selected the Hydro Polymers ltd as the company of choice to be studied. The company specializes in the manufacture of PVC pipes while ensuring minimal pollution of the environment. The main environmental issue faced by the company is the problem of waste disposal. This is because the plastic material take too long to decompose as well as being toxic. If disposed of by such means as burning/incineration, then there is the risk of air pollution. The major corporate function that can be easily implemented include recycling of the polymeric materiasl by the organizations producing them, while enhancing research in biopolymers, whereby, plastic material that can be decomposed is manufactured. In support, this is so as to reduce the emissions towards the environment (North, 1992). It also enhances compliance with the law, as they are environmental friendly. The environmental audit procedures that can be undertaken include; phase 1 or the contaminated land report which is carried out to determine the range of liabilities on the ground(Widyawati, 2008). In addition, the property transfer due diligence audit tha is used in order to determine the liabilities as well as the risks that are associated with a particular property. The compliance audit test is then conducted in order to check and give an assessment are carried out in line with the requirements process.
