For colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow Enuf

The poem focuses on the struggle of black females in America. The women in these stories share their experiences of how they were treated as black girls and how their life has evolved in the midst of the crisis. The poems in this series depict how the women in the late 60’s were able to live their life and how they were able to survive in life even after the horrific experiences. One of the most important points to be considered in this poem is how women in these stories gain unity and acceptance and how their life is able to correlate to each other. In the choreopoem, the poet explains how bad experiences can result even from situations which seem to be good.
The poem colors depicts the miseries and tortures through which the woman had to go through and which they had to constantly suffer time and time again. Painful experiences can have a fatal impact on emotional, physical and psychological health of a human being. The poem symbols represents all of the physical and emotional damages inflicted by men on woman for seductive pleasure. The suicide in this play is not only physical but they also refer to mental suffering through which the women have to go throughout their life.
The rainbow in this poem is able to symbolize crucial facts of life. It represents hope and courage and its colors represents the beauty of life. By saying about loving oneself and loving God, the poet tries to explain that if a human loves himself and cares for himself and others around him than he is near to God. He loves God and his creation. He cares about nature and the gift nature has provided to us human beings.
The word “ Toussaint” has a great significance in this poem as every woman has loving and caring nature and always want appreciation from the opposite sex. The author used this word to describe women nature and her demands in her real life. Each color represents b different degrees of emotional circumstances that can overcome by different personalities.
