Example of hominid evolution essay

Bipedalism means a creature moves using its two rear limbs or legs. Human bipedalism is unique due to its striding gait. Bipedalism relates to graphic designs. This is because in graphic design it involves the walking cycle technique. The computer software is used to draw the animations which are made in sequences in order to create a character that is walking. This is just the same as how the human body works that enables people to have different careers.
The two phases of the walking cycles are the stance and the swing. The stance takes about 60 percent of the walking cycle while the swing takes about 40 percent. The stance occurs when the heel strikes the ground and takes up the whole body’s weight and eventually ends when the forefoot pushes off. The swing phase occurs when the toes are in the air or have left the ground and ends when the heel touches the ground (Lewin and Foley).
Skeletal modification for bipedalism has brought about many problems and ailments for humans. This is because the human body has undergone a lot of changes in areas such as the length of legs, size of the knee, the shape of the hip, the orientation and shape of the vertebral column and also the size and the arrangement of the feet’s bones (Rosenberg 96). The human body is still adapting to these changes thus has affected humans even in the modern society. Some of the modern ailments associated with these changes are arthritis, slipped disc, back pains, scoliosis, lumber pain and difficulties when women are giving birth that result in deaths of the child and mother.
Anthropology does interact with bipedalism. This is evident in the hominid evolution where the human body has a series of changes over time. These changes have helped physical anthropologist in finding answers to what has brought about preeclampsia among expectant mothers (Rosenberg 92). This has made them understand when the problem was first experienced while looking through the records.
I agree with the assessment of human bipedalism relating to chosen careers. Due to bipedalism in which the feet is used for walking while the hands are free so that it can be used for other functions such as cooking, drawing, building or constructing, healing, carrying, holding and they can see further ahead because they can stand (Lewin and Foley). This has paved ways for people to want careers such as architect, archaeology, medicine, anthropology, chef, nanny, psychologist, construction workers etc.
In conclusion, bipedalism is the situation where legs are used for movements. This has been observed through the hominid evolution. This enabled humans to use their hands for different purposes which have enabled them to have different careers. The downside of bipedalism in humans is that it has brought about different ailments such as back pain and arthritis.
