Devin Funchess was born on May 21, 1994, into a Black American family in Farmington Hills, Michigan. As he grew up, his parents enrolled him at Harrison High School in Farmington Hills where he actively participated in running track, playing basketball and of course football. As it is with many others who are now professionals but began playing football in high school, Funchess focused more on the pigskin sports which he played with all his heart.

Coming into the 2017 season, Devin Funchess had a career-high 840 receiving yards, 8 touchdowns and had only 66 drops of catchable passes.
