The theory in mainly concerned with how people develop and how culture affect people’s development process. The theory holds that parents, peers and the members of the community affect an individual behavior in the long learn. The theory adds that the behaviors that people learned at their little age are recognizable at later ages. In essence, language and communication skills are learnt through interaction with other people. For instance, if an individual travels in a foreign land and spends adequate time there, he or she is likely to learn the language of the foreign country.
The sociocultural theory explains that the interaction of people from different origins and backgrounds exposures people to a dynamic learning experience. Essentially, the learning environment has grown to be very dynamic in the recent years. People from different ethnic and racial backgrounds meet in similar education institutions for studies. In this case, cultural interaction has been promoted and, therefore, diversified the educational exposure.

The issue of ethnicity in the education system should be resolved to enhance equitable access to the education services for all students. Students should not be victimized on basis of skin complexion or ethnic background. Instead, students should be motivated to interact socially and learn from each other’s culture. In essence, education is made effective through enhanced interaction of different cultures.
There are numerous approaches that can be adopted in teaching. The modern technology and the available social media platforms such as the Facebook can be very useful tools for studies. The sociocultural theory campaigns for interaction in all possible means for effective learning. For this reason, the available social platforms should be utilized to the maximum to promote the art of learning and cultural exchange.
