WGS 10 In Women and the Military, War, and Peace, I am of the opinion that women pay a major role in the security question. The question of men being the central forces in peace and war can be contested to a huge extent. This is because women suffer a lot especially in conflict zones. It is, therefore, recommended that women be consulted in matters of conflict and security as women shape the context of modern warfare (Kirk & Okazawa-Rey 465-480)
In Sneak Attack, I believe that the militarization process of the US is very luring. However, despite the process being very seductive, I am of the thought that the entire process is a loss since the ultimate goal is linked to a military rationale. For instance a good action cannot be termed as worth, since its main aim is control (Kirk & Okazawa-Rey 481-482). It is this process of militarization that will put the lives of many women at high levels of risk since their rights will be products of the militarization process.
In Gender and Human Security, it is evident that the global security is changing with the time (Kirk & Okazawa-Rey 500-501). In this perspective, it is of essence to come up with mechanisms that will allow for security response system that will look into the needs of all persons and more so women who are likely to suffer from different forms of violence such as sexual violence that affects their general well-being. Crimes based on gender perspectives continue to increase; thus, calls for quick measures to alleviate the problem.
