The dark years by nelson mandela: rhetorical triangle notes

The thesis behind this essay is to explain the hardship he went through while he was incarcerated on Robben Island. He spent eighteen years on that prison what during those years was one of the darkest prisons on the planet. His true meaning behind this essay was the fact that came through and still didn’t seek violence and he always thought about his people. He always wanted to help his people and the fact he wanted to be a major point.

Purpose

The purpose of this essay was to show the people of the world as much of the hardship as he could. The essay had such a strong sense and the purpose kind of jumped off the page at me. No matter what way of life you came from it spoke to the heart of the person that was ever being bullied of oppressed. And that’s what it did. It spoke of the guards and the punishments that were bestowed on him.

As well he talked about it in other interviews he went through in more detail. He truly deserved a Nobel peace prize, he was incarcerated on the charges of espionage and trying to start a ku, but he did not once raise his hand in violence. Audience

His audience is the entire world especially to those who think they can oppress the weak. It spoke to those that would listen and understand his true hardship. The truth of the matter is that it was really written to explain how he felt about being in prison and the things that heppend in that prison. That jail was one of the darkest and most unknown during those years it was opened. It was the current days’ Guantanamo bay, where a government can send any person for a reason such as being a terrorist (a term that is vague and defined by the governing body) or treason. It was written to be heard by the entire world, as such a way to show the high-road or in his case the road of non-violence.
