1. How does bleeding from a wound be stopped?  A wound stops bleeding due to the process of clot formation called coagulation. Coagulation is from the Latin coagulatus meaning ” to cause to curdle”. All this chemical action creates a plug called a blood clot. After a time, moisture is squeezed out of the clot and it contracts. This process is called syneresis. It’s not widely known but the same chemical process of syneresis also happens in the formation of jams and jellies. 2. How does the immune system protect the body from inspection?  The job of the immune system is to protect the body from infections. The immune system protects in three different ways: – It creates a barrier that prevents bacteria and viruses from entering your body. – If a bacteria or virus does get into the body, the immune system tries to detect and eliminate it before it can make itself at home and reproduce. – If the virus or bacteria is able to reproduce and start causing problems, your immune system is in charge of eliminating it. 3. What will happen when both kidneys of a person malfunction?  Healthy kidneys clean the blood by filtering out extra water and wastes. They also make hormones that keep your bones strong and blood healthy. When both of your kidneys fail, your body holds fluid. Your blood pressure rises. Harmful wastes build up in your body. Your body doesn’t make enough red blood cells. You develop fatigue, nausea, and loss of appetite. When this happens, treatment is needed to replace the work of your failed kidneys. 4. How does dialysis give temporary relief to kidney patients?  Dialysis may be either temporary or permanent, depending on the person. If a dialysis patient is waiting on a kidney transplant, the procedure may be temporary. However, if the patient is not a good transplant candidate, or a transplant would not alleviate the condition, dialysis may be a life-long routine. 5. When can memory be temporarily obliterated?  Memory obliterated usually a result of brain trauma and it may be permanent or temporary. When it is caused by medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. 6. Why should sperm count for the man be high for fertilization occur?  Sperm count must be high so that a man can produce a normal fetus. Improving sperm count is all about providing healthy nutrients to make sperm, and making sure that one’s lifestyle choices aren’t damaging one’s sperm. 7. How is the fetus nourished inside the mother’s womb?  A developing fetus receives nourishment from the placenta, which is burrowed into the uterus.
