Number “ All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over a white except by piety and good action.” From The Prophets Farewell Sermon” [slide 71].
“ The Hadith (above) and the Quranic verse (below) emphasize human brotherhood and the virtue of good action” [slide 71].
“ People, We created you all from a single man and a single woman, and made you into nations and tribes so that you should get to know one another. In Gods eyes, the most honored of you are the ones most aware of Him: God is all knowing, all aware.” Quran 49: 13 [slide 71]
The above Hadith and the Quran verse both seem to agree with each other on how no man is born greater than the other by God regardless of race, color or creed, and how man should live together in harmony. The only thing that differentiates man is how holy or devoted he is to his religion [Slide, 71]. The verse and hadith are relevant in our present day because they preach on equality of man. Their significance comes out clearly because in the present word unlike in the past man is not judged using his race, creed or color but by what he has to offer in the name of his character. This is the only way most people today judge. Also, the two scriptures do act as a challenge to people in the present world who have become so self-centered and have stopped being their brother’s keeper.
