Good example of essay on story

Susie is a 32-year-old wife of Vinnie, and in the eyes of the prosecutor she is a gold digger. It would be difficult to convince the prosecutors that Susie is innocent. The prosecutors would likely charge Susie for assisting in the murder attempt if proved that Steve was the one who pulled the trigger. Another possibility is that the prosecutor would charge Susie for conspiracy. The prosecutor will reach this conclusion based on the age difference and the testimony of their family friend, Steve. According to Steve, Susie had once a fling with Steve. In addition to this, Susie and Vinnie slept in separate beds. The bed separation is clear evidence that they are not a couple engaged in a passionate love. However, the crucial thing that would lead the prosecutor in this direction is Steve’s testimony. Steve’s testimony gives an impression of a man who is seduced by a younger woman. Steve says that Vinnie, a 72-year-old man, had an intention to poison his young wife. Also, in his testimony, Steve says that Susie has promised him to share her husband’s big life insurance.
However, Steve would face with harsher charges. The crucial evidence, the gun, belongs to Steve and ballistic report would show that this gun was used in the night of the murder. The fact that he shot Vinnie shows a clear intention to kill him. Along with Susie, Steve planned to kill Vinnie. In the eyes of the law, Steve would be faced with a charge of premeditated murder. In his testimony, Steve says that he planned the murder with Susie with the intention to kill Vinnie. In return, Steve would have Susie’s love, appreciation, and a half of the life insurance. The gun that was used in the night of the shooting belongs to Steve. Steve might also be faced with break in and entry because he entered the house without permission. The mitigating circumstance for Steve can be that he voluntarily came in the police station and admitted his crime.
Steve confessed his crime, and it would be difficult for him to prove his intentions to withdraw from conspiracy. Even if he did not confess, the ballistic report would find a match on the gun shell with his gun. On the other hand, Susie can have a chance to prove that she withdrew from conspiracy. The prosecutor does not have any evidence that Susie committed the crime except Steve’s testimony. All the other indicative factors that may lead in the direction that Susie participated in the conspiracy are circumstantial. Susie might confirm the accuracy of Steve’s testimony, including his statement that they did not agree on the actual time to commit a murder. This is a loop that might help Susie to say that she had changed her mind or that she did not participated in the planning as well. She could say that Steve fell in love with her, and Vinnie was an obstacle to their happiness. Susie could also say that she never wanted to kill her husband and that Steve misinterpreted her words and was jealous of Vinnie’s happiness.
Steve’s defense would be based on the fact that he was a seduced man. A young, pretty woman seduced him. In order to fulfill her wishes, Steve was ready to do whatever she ordered him. Susie manipulated Steve, but his consciousness forced him to come voluntarily to the police station and admit his crime. If would not be difficult to imagine how Steve was manipulated based on his statement. According to Steve, Susie had a fling with him, and this was enough for a man to become seduced and under the influence of young woman. On the other hand, Susie was aware of the power that she had on man, and she used this power to persuade a man to o whatever she wants. In this sense, Steve was not thinking reasonably. Susie might have promised him that after the death of Vinnie she would spend her life with him. At that point Steve was not thinking clearly and acted emotionally and instinctively.
If the prosecutor arrests both Steve and Susie, in the eyes of the law, Steve is more culpable for the death of Vinnie. Steve is guilty because he was the one who tried to kill Vinnie. As previously explained, Steve had the motive and the necessary means for such a deed. He admitted that he tried to kill Vinnie. Even though he said that he planned to kill Vinnie together with Susie it would be difficult to prove that based on just his testimony.. In this case, Susie would win, because she was evidently alarmed when she saw that her husband had been wounded, and begged the police to save her husband. There are no evidences that Susie participated in the conspiracy except Steve’s testimony. Steve has a motive and the means to kill Vinnie. However, it the prosecutor proved that Susie also participated, she could also be convicted of a murder. The lack of eyewitnesses goes in favor to Susie.
Even if Steve accidently killed Susie instead of Vinnie, he would be charged with murder. Even though the wrong person would be killed, a murder is a murder. The human life has ended, and Steve would be face with a serious crime. The other thing is that he would have to explain his actions this to his good friend, Vinnie. From Vinnie’s perspective, Steve would be rejected as a person who killed his wife, and also as a person who conspired with his wife to kill him. Due to this, it is also possible that despite his charge for murder, Steve would be charged for conspiracy as well. The fact that Vinnie is a millionaire could contribute to the fact that he is a respectable member of the community, and due to this Vinnie can make sure that Steve spends many years in jail, possibly for the rest of his life. This scenario places Steve in a difficult position, where he not only looses the woman whom he loves, but also his best friend. In this case, Steve is not only the victim of an attractive woman, but he is also the victim of his destiny. The destiny satirically makes a scene where Steve looses everything due to his misjudgment.
