“ Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”, most of us have heard this popular expression, which went on to become the name of a bestselling book on male female relationships. The limbic system of the male brain is larger than in a female’s brain. This may explain why a woman is more in touch with her feelings. This is also said to explain a women’s intuition. A woman is considered to be naturally more nurturing towards child, and are also able to have an easier time connecting with people. According to Bio Med Central’s access journal Biology of Sex differences, men and women have different ways of using the visual centers of their brains. While females are better at distinguishing colors, males are more sensitive to fine detail and rapidly moving stimuli. There are high concentrations of the male sex hormone (androgen) receptors throughout the cerebral cortex in the brain, particularly in the visual cortex, which is in charge of processing images. Guys have 25% more neurons in the visual cortex than females because, during embryogenesis, androgens are responsible for controlling the development of those neurons.

Professor Israel Abramov, lead author, explained: As with other senses, such as hearing and the olfactory system, there are marked sex differences in vision between men and women. The elements of vision we measured are determined by inputs from specific sets of thalamic neurons into the primary visual cortex. According to Dr. Lou Ann Brizendine, a member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the author of, “ The Female Brain” and “ The Male Brain”, scientists have found profound differences between male and female brains. The fact that male brains tend to have larger dorsal premammillary nucleus is one of the major differences. Women’s Brains Have Larger Mirror-Neuron System. The part of the brain that helps interpret emotional cues is larger in women than in men. This is one reason why women tend to be better at reading other’s emotions then men.

Women are better at interpreting nonverbal emotional cues, facial expressions and body language than men. Male Brains Have a Larger Sexual Pursuit Area those 2. 5 times larger than in females. It’s increased testosterone in male teens and adults and it is clear that the sex drive for males is typically different than the sex drive in females. Brain size: The male brain is typically about ten percent larger than the female brain. Although the extra mass does give males more processing power, this doesn’t make men more intelligent. Mathematical skills: The inferior-parietal lobule, which controls numerical brain function, is larger in males than in females. On standardized tests, men often score higher on mathematical tests than women. Stress: When faced with stressful situations, men usually employ fight or flight tactics, while women use a tend or befriend response that is rooted in their natural instincts for caring for their children and establishing strong group bonds.
