Changing gender dynamic It is a fact that the characters and behaviours of female doctors might be different from that of the male doctors. It is notnecessary that both a male doctor and a female doctor may handle a complicated case equally well. In my opinion, male doctors have more courage and confidence than the female doctors when it comes to addressing complicated cases. Male doctors are better in taking quick decisions whenever an emergency occurs in the hospital compared to the female doctors. Some cases may need quick actions and decisions and hence the reduction of male doctors and injection of excessive female doctors is not a desirable phenomenon in healthcare industry.
The power differentials between doctors and nurses in hospitals can be reduced with the introduction of more female doctors which is not desirable for healthcare industry in Canada. It is a fact that at least some of the nurses are forced to bring their 100% productivity only because of the good management capabilities or power used by the male doctors. When the power equations between the nurses and the doctors changed with the introduction of more female doctors, nurses may enjoy more freedom and they may reduce their attention and focus on their works. Female doctors may show more mercy towards the nurses which might be misused by the nurses.
In short, definitely, the changing gender dynamic will affect the practice of medicine in Canada. Moreover, the introduction of more female doctors may result in reduction of power differences between the doctors and the nurses which is not a good sign.
Gender Unifications in languages
In the aborigine language Dyribal, there are languages such as Algonquian languages in which there is no grammatically mandatory gender reference. In my opinion, the above fact reflects and reinforces the attitudes held concerning gender in the societies in which those languages are spoken. Equality in every aspect of human life is the slogan raised by feminists and these slogans have a definite effect on the above decisions.
The creator has created the humans as males and females with differences in physical and mental characteristics. In short, gender differences are a reality not a myth. It is difficult for a male to become a female or a female to become a male even if they try to imitate the opposite sex in every aspect of life. It is difficult to address a person if his gender is not specified in the communication. For example, there are many names which used equally by both males and females. Hillary Clinton is a famous American female whereas Edmund Hillary is a famous male from New Zealand. The name Hillary is commonly used by a male and a female in the above case. If a language address both the people as Hillary, it is difficult to distinguish them without using a he’ or she’.
In short, standardization of gender in languages is not a desirable thing. It is better to keep the identity based on the natural laws itself. It is impossible for a male to become a female or vice versa by the standardization of gender usages in languages.
