Bicentennial man essay

A person’s idea of perfection is in his eyes. One may say that perfection is the ultimate goal of one but have you ever considered that being perfect can lead to a boring life? The story talks about a robot who wants to free himself from the life he has, a life that leads to nothing. He always wanted a life similar to humans and that is to experience the joy that robots couldn’t or will not have and that is to be a human person. He admired our physical and emotional being so he wanted to be one. He wanted emotions and to feel to express his love and devotion to the girl she wanted to love.

Being a robot is a hard work. Although I’m not one but by the looks of it, they are being manipulated by humans. He wanted to feel and experience of loving and being loved and the pleasure of having someone by your side and to make mistakes. The movie is actually one of the most heart-touching movies I’ve ever watched without a doubt most especially the last part of it. It gives us a lesson that we must be happy for the life that God has given us because there are other species that long to have a body and a soul.

It made me realize that I am perfect in my own way. Those mistakes that I’ve made, they are actually the ones that made me perfect. You just have to learn how to embrace that negativity and learn how to make it a positive one. To experience a lot of emotions is the best part of being a human person and Andrew can’t show nor do that and that is why he tried his very best to be our kind which also tells us another lesson that if you want something, you should be determined to get it.

If you have the opportunity, go grab it because it only comes once in a lifetime. Life wouldn’t lend you your needs because it’s up to you to have it. The last part of the story tells us that Andrew has been declared the oldest human person alive but before the law told him that, he died already which is ironic. He was beside his lovely wife who later on died also not because she is old but she wanted to die with her husband which for me is the most touching part of the story. Life is a onetime offer so use it well.
