Outbreak at WatersEdge From an analysis of the game, it is evident that an outbreak of disease occurred after the Thompson Park summer clean up drive. After the even, many people got sick, with the majority complaining of diarrhea, nausea, loss of weight and a lack of appetite. The mapping conducted indicated that most of the patients had been at the Thompson Park the previous day. The five reported patients all had been in the Thompson Park clean up on the day before the onset of the symptoms. From a visit to the park, an investigation was conducted and water samples collected to determine the cause of the outbreak. In investigating the park, another mapping was conducted to determine the exact place in the park where most of the cases occurred, and the statements showed that the patients drank water from the water fountains in the park and drank the punches at the concession. The three water sources at the park, the two fountains and the lake were sampled, after the realization that everybody got sick on the day of the cleanup. After a sampling of the water sources, it was discovered that the source of the outbreak was the water, where all the three main water sources, the fountain, lake and concession stand were affected. The sampling indicated that a parasite, Cryptosporidium was the cause of the infection and it was found in the fountain in the beach. The other sample results were negative, but the concession stand made punch from the fountain in the beach. The rainwater caused the run-off, which caused the infection of the disease.
