Consequently, this prompted his father raising him in the confinements of a royal palace. This ensured that he would not encounter world sufferings or see them due to the office that awaited him in life. Siddhartha Guatama while in the palace, his father ensured that he had everything, which he required even a wife, though this did not last for long until one day he managed to escape (Saddhatissa, 1998). To his utter surprise, he found out that life outside the palace was fraught with sufferings. For illustration, sickness, old age and daily struggling to get food, this was contrary to what he experienced while in the palace where the crown of all was death.
Siddhartha Gautama’s shock and discovery regarding what comprised life prompted him to forsake both the palace’s life and the dream of becoming a king (Saddhatissa, 1998). His intention was to seek enlightenment besides teaching it to the people because he deemed that was the only way people will be free from greed, hatred, and ignorance. Hence, people attain wisdom, compassion, and freedom required for living where they will effectively understand the deepest workings of life besides humanity’s sufferings (Saddhatissa, 1998).
